About Us

About Us

A frankenstein mix of funk, grunge, psychedelia and talent

Grunge psych-rock with a splash of groove, Hudson Cartel are a band with an insatiable appetite to play dynamic and energetic shows, forming in 2017, Hudson Cartel released their debut EP "The Inside Man", to great success, lodging high in Triple J unearthed charts and other university/community radio stations. Maintaining their hard work ethic, they then released another EP entitled "Atmosphere" less than a year later in August 2018. Truly showcasing their diverse change of sound into a more groove and psychedelic, dynamic rock sound, which saw them tour the mainland, which has led them to support the likes of: The Bennies, Luca Brasi, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Hands Like Houses, Dead Letter Circus, A. Swayze & The Ghosts, The Gooch Palms, Tired Lion, The Bleeding Knees Club, and Kingswood. Which led to playing the 2019 FALLS FESTIVAL, Marion Bay and more recently played at the 2021 MONA Museum summer showcase, supported Kingswood, Smith Street Band and Spiderbait at their 2022 'Songs in the key of J' tour.

Hudson Cartel In the Media

Tassie punks Hudson Cartel are pumping music out left, right, and centre; the bands latest EP will be out by the time you read this, and an album isn't far off. This second EP, Atmosphere, just six or so months after the last one (debut *The Inside Man). Frontman Matthew Burn may have this hands full in his day job as a social worker, but the now- trio are keen as a mustard.
